NOTE: PAUL & ROY - MERCURY 6374

SPRING OF LOVE    80-82-76-82
Country weeper, played tongue-in-cheek, fast-tempo hoedown style, receives a strong and straight vocal from the boys. A strong disk.

YOU’VE BEEN CHEATING ON ME, DARLING      75-75-75-75
The boys sing another weeper in hoedown style, tho the material here is not as strong as the other side.

NOTE: PAUL & ROY THE TENNESSEE RIVER BOYS - MERCURY 6406

ONLY PRETENDING                   75-76-74-75
This is a good team which should do okay in the rural area. Their harmony is nice and close. The Tennessee River Boys back nicely.

THE SHAPE MY HEART’S IN      76-77-75-76
Tempo is up on this side and the duo reacts well to it. Paul leads and Roy chimes in for some fine harmony. The string band does some fancy picking in the background.

WICKED LOVE  68
Backwoods type of reading on a good country ballad.

DON’T EVER TELL ME                68
Routine ditty gets a good performance.

NOTE: PAUL & ROY THE TENNESSEE RIVER BOYS - MERCURY 70197

I’M LOST WITHOUT YOU    67
The Boys develop a good sound here on a waltz item with a beat. Good backwoods stuff.

FLOWER OF OLD TENNESSEE 65
The team comes thru with a listenable reading of a routine type of country ballad.
